Jump Cut in Eden Lake
In Eden Lake the jump cuts show the pass through time, the director used about 4 minutes to show the car moving through the motorway and there are jump cuts between shots to make it longer. Also through the change of shots you can see that the color tones change and this shows how the whole day has passed by. Through the highway the cinematographer uses a Pov of the car, the camara moves forward by only showing what the car has infront.
Jump Cut
The jump cut in the film A Bout de Souffle (Godard, 1960) is a bit annoying because it jumps in aggressivly some movements, actions and expressions. These jump cut shows us that time is passing by, that they have been long time in a car driving around. Jump Cuts are used in the film Eden Lake to show the same, to show time passing by but they edited in a better way by using different kind of shots of the car.
